Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking three Software Engineers / Principal Software Engineers who will be responsible for the design, development and integration of ground-based mission planning software. The work will involve design, development, integration, debugging, and verification of electromagnetic spectrum related services and applications within a DoD enterprise architecture. As part of a cross-functional team, the selected individual will need to interface with other software engineers as well as team members from other business disciplines such as: product owners to develop and fully understand backlog items, integration testers to aid in troubleshooting and SW verification, and program management to discuss technical program issues. The selected individual will need to work as part of an Agile development team, participating in release planning, iteration planning, daily scrums, iteration reviews and retrospectives. They will be reponsible for task estimation and completion for each iteration, including design, coding, peer reviews, unit testing and documentation (e.g. on-line help, SW programmer guides) and presentation of their work at the iteration demonstration.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Software Engineer or Principal Software Engineer level.

BQs for a Principal Software Engineer are Bachelor rsquo;s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and 5 years of applicable Software experience. .

BQs for a Software Engineer are Bachelor rsquo;s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline and two years of applicable Software experience.

Proficiency in C, familiarity with .Net Core service development and REST APIs, experience developing software as part of an Agile team. Thorough knowledge of modern software development with demonstrated experience.

Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and associated toolsets

- Experience building and deploying applications to cloud based environments

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Strong attention to detail
The successful candidate must be an adaptable self-starter and able to efficiently operate in a small team environment utilizing the Agile Framework.
Preferred Qualifications:
Development on an Agile team within the SAFe process. Micro-service design/development including containerization. Experience with Terraform. Continuous Integration/Development and DevOps pipeline experience. Experience with JSCRIPT/TypeScript/React or similar web UI technologies.
