Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking an Associate Technical Editor and Writer .This position will be located in Roy, Utah and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here

What You rsquo;ll Get To Do:

Writes rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively using Extensible Markup Language (XML) and adhering to an S1000D specification and instructions to a United Sates Air Force (USAF) customer. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.

This position rsquo;s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualification

You rsquo;ll Bring These Qualifications:

* At least 0-2 years of relevant experience with Bachelor 39;s Degree; In lieu of formal degree, High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and at least 3 years of relevant experience in a related technical field
* Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards
* Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks
* Must be able to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and system description documents.
* Be able to write in XML.
* Currently hold an active Secret clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

* Experience with the Eagle/EPS publishing system
* Experience in utilizing the USAF Flight Manual or Maintenance Manual change process
* Experience writing in XML/S1000D International Specification for Technical Publications/IETM/Data Module writing (Arbortext, EAGLE, XMetal, or similar program)
* At least 4 years rsquo; experience in an electronic/avionic field or in a Department of Defense (DoD) maintenance background.
