Northrop Grumman is looking for a Machining Process Engineer to join the Rocket Motor Case Engineering team in Clearfield, Utah.

The candidate will develop and maintain detailed work instructions for assigned products/processes in the machining area, aid in the disposition of discrepant hardware, provide suggestions to improve productivity, analyze processing data to highlight trends and implement corrective actions, and provide day to day support to manufacturing machining personnel.

Job Responsibilities include:
bull; Coordinates with Design Engineering on design and manufacturability issues.
bull; Coordinates with production on day to day activities. Assists in the resolution of processing issues.
bull; Evaluates discrepant hardware.
bull; Troubleshoots existing processes to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
bull; Incorporates Engineering changes on work in process.
bull; Maintains and updated process instructions used on the production floor.

Qualification

Bachelor rsquo;s Degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or related field and 9 years of work experience or 7 years with Masters
bull; Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction
bull; Excellent computer skills. Skilled in working with Microsoft Office applications and business database systems
bull; Excellent verbal and written communication skills
bull; Strong problem solving skills

Preferred Qualification:

bull; Experience in working with aerospace specifications and drawings, both hard copy and model based
bull; Experience in working with composite materials
bull; Experience with machining processes, both composite and metallic materials
bull; Experience with hardware installation processes
bull; Experience supporting an aerospace manufacturing process with the necessary materials, tooling, and equipment
bull; Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing manufacturing procedures
bull; Experience authoring, modifying, and auditing MBOMs
bull; Knowledge of root cause / corrective action processes and techniques
bull; Experience working on or around CNC controlled machining centers
bull; Experience with CNC machining software, reading and writing
