Description
Northrop Grumman rsquo;s Law Department is seeking a Corporate Counsel for its litigation group at the Company rsquo;s headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. The Corporate Counsel is responsible for handling all types of disputes involving the Company, including government contracts, False Claims Act, bid protests, commercial, intellectual property, environmental, employment, ERISA and insurance matters.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Working with and managing external legal support handling disputes
* Developing and implementing legal strategies and managing the Company rsquo;s actions regarding disputes
* Collaborating with other internal legal support in providing legal advice to the Company
* Briefing senior management on disputes or matters involving a significant legal exposure or risk to the Company
* Developing and managing legal budgets
Qualification
Basic Qualifications:
* Juris Doctor (JD) degree (strong academic record)
* A member of the Virginia Bar, through testing or comity or, in lieu of licensure, ability to obtain Virginia corporate counsel certificate
* At least 10 years of litigation experience
* Proven litigation experience and strong litigation strategist
* Excellent written and oral communications, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, risk assessment and negotiation skills
* Strong work ethic and collaborative approach
* Highest standards of integrity
* Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities
* Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience supporting clients in the defense and/or intelligence communities
* Experience litigating on behalf of or against the federal government
* Experience litigating government contract matters
