Position Title: Manufacturing Team Leader, 6p-6a
Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor
Location: Winchester, VA
Job Summary:
As a team leader in the Winchester, VA location you will report to a manufacturing supervisor. The team leader will be responsible for executing the production schedule for a specific department, while ensuring that safety, quality and cost initiatives are met daily. This position will communicate cross functionally to other areas of the business, and should always carry themselves in a professional manner. This position is scheduled to work a 12.5 hour shift.
Job Duties:
Analyze production schedules, and order any components necessary to maintain continuous production.
Communicate any component shortages or discrepancies to the Production Supervisor immediately
Provide personal/ lunch breaks for up to 6 employees. If your department has less than 6 employees on a specific shift, you will be asked to provide breaks in a different department
Plan and maintain records of overtime, and ensure that all awarded overtime is posted in accordance to the overtime policies
Report any personnel issues (tardy, absent, sick) to the Production Supervisor immediately
Plan and maintain out of cell and no work rotations
Move components and finished goods to and from storage, or production areas
Safety:
Team Leaders must ensure that all jobs are being performed safely, in conjunction with operator instructions and JSAs
Team Leaders must intervene into any situation that appears unsafe, or violates a safety policy. All such instances should be reported to the Production Supervisor as soon as possible.
Team Leaders must own the housekeeping and 5S within their department.
Must ensure that the work areas are free from hazards such as slip/trip hazards, and ergonomic issues.
Must participate in local safety/5S programs (SEAL Committees, Daily Hazard Hunt, 5S Audits)
Must ensure that job rotation takes place in accordance with local safety policies
Quality
Ensure that all jobs are being produced with the correct components per the BOM
Ensure that all previous labels have been removed from the machine prior to starting a new job
Team Leaders must comply with the 1st Piece process by verifying all the required information, and signing the document as confirmation
Team Leaders must report any known quality infractions to the Production Supervisor immediately
Team Leaders must ensure that the operators within their department are only scrapping per the direction of the manufacturing quality spec or the on-shift quality technician. Any unnecessary scrapping should be reported to the Production Supervisor immediately
Training:
Ensure that all Key Trainers follow the most current training guidelines
Ensure that all new employees are treated fairly, with an equal chance to succeed
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must be able to lift 25lbs. consistently, and up to 50 lbs. periodically
Must be a team player and be able to communicate effectively with coworkers and leadership
Forklift experience required
Associate must be a team player that leads by example
Associate must be open to new process improvements/changes while maintaining a positive attitude
Candidates must be able to multi-task and be able to prioritize accordingly.
Must not be in any attendance steps while applying, or while holding a Team Leader position. Any attendance steps incurred while holding this position will be reviewed by management to determine if reassignment is necessary.
Must not be in any disciplinary steps while applying for this position. Any disciplinary steps beyond a documented coaching, while holding the position, will be reviewed by management to determine if reassignment is necessary.
Must adhere to policies and procedures, and be willing to hold other associates accountable to the same standard
