TITLE: Sr. Sourcing Manager

Develop strategies and execution for Newell Brands' Packaging Commodities. Drive Newell Brands' key sourcing metrics which include: Productivity, Working Capital Improvements, Lead Time, Service Level, and Quality. Work in a cross-functional team environments and provide support to various management teams to deliver on the goals and metrics of Newell Brands.
Specific Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for the packaging raw material category
Research, identify, and qualify best value sources of supply
Deliver 3-5% YOY productivity goals for assigned commodities
Increase DPO in accordance with working capital objectives
Reduce lead times in assigned commodity
Rationalize the supplier base through the solicitation of competitive bids
Develop and manage the relationships with preferred suppliers
Develop knowledge of new Domestic and International markets in order to find new sources of supply
Set up and maintain accurate costing information in SAP and administer SAP requirements
Coordinate with the supply chain department to ensure that suppliers adhere to the required delivery schedules. Take appropriate actions to maintain on-time deliveries of approved materials
Coordinate with the supplier and planner to minimize excess and obsolete inventory
Contract life-cycle management with preferred suppliers
Manage NPD resources to ensure product launches that are: On-Time / On-Quality / On-Cost
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in business, packaging/engineering, or related fields; or comparable experience
3 to 5 years purchasing experience in packaging direct materials is preferred
Strong negotiation skills
Intimate knowledge and experience with various packaging markets and suppliers
Strong Project Management skills and experience
Ability to travel domestically about 25% of time.
Ability to work, motivate and lead effectively in a team environment
Exceptional analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Strong commitment to the highest standards of personal and professional integrity
Excellent Presentation skills
Ability to succeed with little supervision
Knowledge of Internet based procurement and practices
Ability to organize and analyze data using a PC
Experience in SAP, MS Office, Windows is required

Dynamic work environment requiring ongoing learning and development. Need to support both short and long-term business objectives. Involves decision-making based on logical evaluation of information. Requires ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while still maintaining attention to detail. Involves a range of interpersonal contacts within Newell Brands and the outside supplier community.
