Come join NCR as a Web Developer in Digital Banking as part of a team tasked with transforming the way we do business. The teams purpose is to make banks and credit unions more efficient by way of custom internal tools and external web sites. We work closely with other NCR teams to understand the clients needs and frustrations with getting their jobs done, and then work to simplify and automate their processes so that they can focus on making their customers happy.

Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility

As a Web Developer, you will be responsible for building and/or maintaining our clients websites on our WordPress, Unix, and proprietary WebCenter platforms. You will ensure that end users can browse the websites in an accessible and resource optimized manner. There are plenty of opportunities to take leadership in innovating, on your own or with a group, to automate processes and build tools to assist other developers and other teams.

* Build and maintain Financial Institution websites and help consolidate to our new WordPress based platform.
* Required to self-manage workload, be assertive in innovation, and proactively take on more work and responsibility as comfort level with our systems and processes increases.
* Maintain a working knowledge of web best practices and technology advancements.
* Be capable of learning and adapting to changes in an innovative environment.
* Write scripts to automate mundane tasks, data mine, and create tools

Basic Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent work experience
* 2+ years experience building websites with experience in SEO and performance optimization
* HTML
* JavaScript/jQuery
* CSS/SCSS
* PHP/WordPress
* The ability to script and code in WordPress including coding your own plugins and custom WordPress themes from scratch
* The ability to create complex automation workflows
* MacOSX and/or *NIX experience
* Scripting language (i.e.: Python, Perl, BASH)
* Ability to learn and teach new languages and practices
* Ability to communicate written and orally in an open, candid, clear, complete and consistent manner
* Analytical skills for determining causes of problems and solutions for solving them
