Position Description

We are looking for a highly skilled communications professional to join our global media relations team. This high profile role is responsible for supporting the development and activation of our media strategy to tell our companys formidable scientific story in a cohesive way to enhance understanding among key stakeholder groups. This will be a key role within the Corporate Communications team, working closely with Policy, Manufacturing, Research, Product, and Investor Relations teams as well as many high-level executives to support business critical initiatives that impact the companys reputation. This position reports to the Head of Global Media Relations.

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum Requirement:

* BA degree required, Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Public Policy preferred. MBA or Masters in related area preferred. Healthcare experience is required.

Required Experience and Skills:

* Accomplished scientific/product communications professional with a minimum of 10 years experience in corporate communications, media relations, public relations agency or related field. Experience in healthcare required.
* The ideal candidate will have strong relationships with key top-tier and biopharmaceutical trade media and a track record of working successfully to build relationships with emerging scientific and biopharmaceutical outlets.
* Key competencies of the role include having an exceptional understanding of product and pipeline communications, excellent written and verbal communications skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and a passion for storytelling.
* Proven experience developing and driving successful corporate reputation and thought leadership initiatives in coordination with business partners in support of company objectives.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

* Superior interpersonal communications skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills; ability to engage with and persuade a wide variety of audiences.
* Strong understanding of the technical side of the healthcare business, including regulatory environments, pricing and access.
* Media and message training of executives at various skill levels.
* Excellent writing and content creation skills required; able to quickly produce clear, compelling, motivating communications.
* Able to quickly learn the business and operate within a complex, fast-paced and changing environment.
* Proficiency with web-based, digital communications and internal/external social media tools preferred. Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills with strong ability to develop new, innovative ways to drive communications in a rapidly changing environment.
* Excellent project management skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
* Strong experience operating within a matrixed, global corporate environment.
