The Opportunity:

Mattel, Inc. is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Sr. Product Designer to join the Mattel Roulette product design team. This group is focused on creating new product opportunities for the value channel by understanding the consumer, trends, and technology that are then translated into successful products. The process involves creating and communicating toy concepts in 2D and/or 3D models to design and marketing management. The ideal candidate will possess proven product design experience while showing the ability to work on challenging and exciting products as well as ideating new concepts.

What Your Impact Will Be:

* Actively source new opportunities to enhance the brand
* Execute on both Product and Graphic Designs
* Design and develop figurines and playsets and/or advertised lines or segments
* Build consensus between cross functional team members throughout the design process
* Partner with Development Design, Engineering, Packaging and Cost Engineering to ensure product integrity and marketing objectives
* Daily communication with Asia partners
* Successfully present and communicate concepts to design and marketing management and other creative departments
* In partnership with other disciplines, manage the early phases of design and development within the company

What Were Looking For:

* 4+ years of toy design experience
* Must be proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator and 2D computer programs
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Adobe Creative Suite proficiency
* Knowledge of material and manufacturing process
* Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment; team player
* Ability to project manage and multi-task
* Ideal candidate will exhibit interest and knowledge of current trends
* An understanding of features and play patterns within the toy industry is a plus
* Portfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and superior problem solving
* Strong organization and project management skills
* Passionate about toys and design
* A good eye for design details
