Central Carolina Hospital

The EMT will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the ill or injured.

Their duties will include:

1. Safely operating an ambulance or other emergency vehicle
2. Administering appropriate medical care to sick or injured persons
3. Accurate and concise documentation of all care
4. Participate in the upkeep of station equipment, vehicles and quarters
5. Provide care in accordance with established emergency medical procedures and techniques as outlined in the patient care protocols for your specific certification level
6. Tact, courtesy and firmness are required in dealing with sick or injured persons and with the general public
7. Responds to emergency calls as a driver or attendant; performs necessary rescue work; and administers necessary emergency medical care
8. Ability to communicate effectively via telephone and radio equipment
9. Ability to use good judgment and remain calm in high stress situations
10. Ability to withstand varied environmental conditions such as extreme heat, cold, and moisture

Job Requirements

Required Education:

High school diploma is required

Required License:

Valid NC Drivers License

Required Certification:

North Carolina EMT-Paramedic Certification

American Heart Association BLS is required

American Heart Association ACLS is required

American Heart Association PALS is required
