Come intern with one of the largest engineering companies in the world!

We are looking for an Undergraduate Intern to work with Power Solutions Engineering Team.

The main job responsibility is to provide optimal power from the voltage regulator (VR) that sits on the motherboard Printed Circuit Board (PCB) all the way to the silicon chip to ensure optimal performance for various products and electrical technologies. We provide on-the-job training.

Additional responsibilities include:

* Obtaining power delivery requirements like voltage specifications, current requirements, etc.

* Interacting with various engineers across many disciplines including voltage regulator engineers, microprocessor package designers, motherboard/PCB designers, silicon chip designers, etc.

* Run time-domain and frequency-domain analysis using spice tools and debug as needed.

* Provide a written technical presentation with simulation findings and corresponding design recommendations.

* Design recommendations could include optimizing power planes designs, selecting appropriate capacitors to filter noise, adjusting voltage regulation sense point locations, etc.

To start in February-March 2021 part time moving to full time in summer timeframe, preferable 12 months internship.

This position is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship. Intel sponsors individuals for employment-based visas for positions where we experience a shortage of US Workers. These skills shortage roles are typically STEM contributing positions requiring a Master's or PhD degree, or a Bachelors degree with three years related job experience. This position does not qualify for Intel Sponsorship because it is either (1) a non-STEM contributing position, or (2) a STEM position that only requires a Bachelors degree and less than three years experience.

Qualifications

You must possess minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Requirements:

The candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and plan to graduate in 2022 or 2023.

Minimum of 3 months experience in:

* Basic Circuits theory.

* Power electronics that would include voltage regulator topologies.

* Analog and/or Mixed circuit design.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience in signal and power integrity industry simulation tools like Spice, Matlab, 3-D solvers, etc.

* Design the power solution with constraints that include cost, schedule and design space.

* Transmission line theory, IO circuits, high-speed signaling, and electronics microprocessor packaging.

* Experience with electronic equipment characterizations/measurements that include digital oscilloscopes, network analyzers and electronic loads.

* Linear and non-linear control.

* Power integrity design.

* Power semiconductor physics.
