Intel Product Assurance and Security (IPAS) is responsible for implementing and operationalizing proactive security and risk-prioritized measures for all of Intel's products. The team is chartered with understanding the next generation of security threats and technologies, while guiding future research and architecture decisions to secure Intel's platforms while fostering a security first culture into Intel's product development and strategic practices. We are looking for a senior technical manager responsible for leading a globally dispersed team of world-class offensive security researchers through complex, multidisciplinary security research projects. This leader will provide technical direction in hardware security research and coaching/development of technical leaders, as well as contribute directly on research projects of his/her own. The role requires a deep pervasive pulse on Intel technologies and the emerging threat landscape in the hacker community to prioritize offensive security research focus. This position reports to the leader of IPAS Security Research and is part of a team of highly experienced, multidisciplinary researchers with a proven track record of taking on complex challenges, while working across organizations to drive tangible change. The leader will manage projects or programs where decisions made can have a major global or long-lasting impact on the business, reputation, posture, or image of the organization. Strong organizational skills, great communication skills, strong teamwork and exceptional interpersonal skills are an essential part of this role.

Qualifications

MS or PhD degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical engineering with 15+ years' experience in hardware security research and 5+ years' experience as a team leader. Demonstrated expertise in vulnerability research, exploit development, and reverse engineering. In-depth knowledge of computer architecture, CPU, SoC, chipsets, BIOS, Firmware, Drivers, and other compute paradigms. Demonstrated leadership and experience in positively motivating and influencing others to get results. Ability to influence in a highly matrixed environment, working across all levels of the organization - from VPs and Fellows to individual engineers Strong mix of technical breadth and depth, business acumen and cross-organization teamwork ability to be a credible partner for engineering and enabling teams Must be a problem solver - able to come up with creative solutions, adapting to changing data and situations Demonstrated ability in distilling complex technical challenges into actionable recommendations Excellent presentation and communication skills with experience presenting to senior executive teams Additional Skills Committed team player, collaborator, a positive role model in the organization Proven experience to not only to work in ambiguous situations, but also own responsibility to bring and drive clarity Proven experience to reduce complex technical and or business challenges into simpler and easy to execute tasks. Passion to constantly push the envelope of possibility thinking.
