High performance computing (HPC) clusters run some of the world's most demanding applications like those that help predict dangerous weather, model car crashes, and find more effective ways to fight cancer. We help people build HPC solutions from some of the world's most powerful systems through individual user platforms. We're looking for someone to join our team and help users fuel their insights through broad use of scientific computing.

A cluster systems engineer will need to develop a working knowledge of systems software components, hardware components, and parallel programming models. This position will get to work with key Intel building blocks aimed at HPC systems including the latest Intel processors, high-performance fabric, and many more technologies. Specifically, this position will help maintain an HPC cluster software stack supporting intel technologies. Success in this role is providing a functional system that aligns to key milestones of component software and hardware roadmaps. This is an opportunity to own a key element of Intel's success in enabling internal teams and key Intel partners.

This position will work directly with senior engineering staff to tackle complex systems integration challenges. It requires expertise in solutions design, server architecture, and systems software.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school-work/ classes/ research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or aerospace engineering or Physics or Mathematics or other related fields to computational science with 4+ years of experience or Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical engineering or electrical engineering or aerospace engineering or engineering mechanics or Physics or Mathematics or other related fields to computational science with 3+ years of experience

3 or more years of experience and demonstrated proficiency with the following skills:

* HPC cluster administration and/or user experience
* Work experience installing and configuring Linux operating systems
* Networking configuration and debugging knowledge
* Linux Shell Scripting proficiency
* Hardware and software debugging skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Additional skills or experience desired:

* Knowledge of MPI and other parallel programming models
* Linux system administration
* Experience building Linux kernels, drivers, and software
* Python scripting proficiency
* HPC accelerator experience
* Advanced fabric experience
* Understanding of Intel server architecture and related hardware technologies
