The Value-Based Programs Financial Analyst builds templates, standard documentation, policy and protocol, case studies, and disseminating best in class knowledge. The Value-Based Programs Financial Analyst work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Value-Based Strategy team's mission is to support successful value-based (VB) provider relationships with a focus on improving the provider experience and achieving Humana's path-to-value goals. Our strategy is to develop, support and deploy the best programs, practices and capabilities that assist Humanas provider partners and internal customers to successfully achieve enterprise VB goals.

Responsibilities

The Value-Based Programs Financial Analyst understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures.

As a member of the Value-Based Strategy's Operational team, your role will be to assist in the administration of existing value-based programs while also identifying new opportunities.

* Manages the financial aspects of our operations, including payment processes, accruals, budgeting, and financial analyses of program performance
* Assists in the technical aspects of quality recognition program administration, and continues our efforts in expanding EFT payment capabilities
* Assists in the visualization and creation of new reporting packages for market and provider consumption.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree (Preferably in Finance, Business Administration, or Accounting)
* 1+ years experience working with MS SQL
* Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel (pivot tables, vlookups)
* Ability to grasp complex subjects and work independently to devise creative solutions
* Ability to work well with others
* Good communication skills (both oral and written)
* Individual initiative

Preferred Qualifications

* Prior healthcare experience
* Understanding of Humana's data infrastructure
* Knowledge and experience in using Oracle
* Knowledge of Sharepoint
