The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation [FDIC] mission is to preserve and promote public confidence in the U.S. financial systems by insuring deposits in banks and thrift institutions for up to $250,000; by identifying, monitoring, and addressing risks to the deposit insurance funds; and by limiting the effect on the account and the financial system when a bank or thrift institution fails.

GDIT is currently seeking a Network Operations Center Administrator for the FDIC Infrastructure team. (Though the position is 8-5 M-F, the role requires flexibility to support issues or planned activities after hours, weekends and holidays as needed.)

U.S. Citizenship and background investigation is required; you must have a current clean financial background.

Task and responsibilities in this role include, but are not limited to the following:
* Performs day to day provisioning and service management support of telecommunications facilities and services in a nationwide enterprise environment.
* Works with telecommunications providers throughout the country to coordinate the installation, repair and maintenance of facilities in FDIC offices and bank locations as required.
* Acts as an escalation point for service related issues and is responsible for managing reported troubles, coordinating with client, vendors and technical support to ensure they are resolved in a timely manner.
* Coordinates with clients to develop service requirements and delivery intervals.
* Monitors performance of circuits and network infrastructure across the FDIC enterprise.
* Initiates investigations of network performance anomalies and degradations; collaborates with system owners and platform teams to identify root cause and communicate key stakeholders

Perform telecommunications provisioning activities associated with enterprise wide projects, responsibilities include:
* Working with project manager(s) and project team(s) to execute tier 1 network-related tasks
* Coordinating with telecom/ISP vendor(s) regarding all aspects of service deliveries and ensuring that all vendor commitments are met
* Tracking service inventory to include scheduling, delivery and final hand-off status.
* Coordinating installation activities with the vendor, client and contractor staff responsible for service delivery and installation
* Escalating with vendor to resolve issues associated with services deliveries
* Monitors status of network service delivery to proactively identify and resolve issues in order to ensure continuity of service

To qualify, you must meet these basic qualifications:
* BS degree & 4 years (3 years specialized) OR
* Master's & 3 years (2 years specialized) OR
* No degree & 8 years (6 years specialized)
* Proficient oral and written communication skills
* Must have good customer service skills
* In depth provisioning knowledge of telecommunications services, to include:
* Analog and Digital (PRI and BRI) access Services
* DSL service
* Cable Modem Services

It would be great if you also had:
* Wireless networking (Wi-Fi) deployment experience
* Network hardware installation and configuration
