Our work depends on an ETM Core Network Engineer joining our team to support JSP-ETM activities at the Pentagon .

As a ETM Core Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the health and maintenance of a large, complex networking infrastructure. This includes providing network administration and operational support to more than 8000 networked devices. The engineer will provide comprehensive network administration, security enhancements and remediation, and troubleshooting of network devices such as routers, switches, load balancers, WIFI, and VoIP. This position requires an understanding of best practices pertaining to network security and may require the development, deployment, and integration of network security services. Successful candidates should be able to work both independently and as part of a team. In this role, a typical day will include:
* Provide problem and incident resolution, including dealing with software and hardware vendor technical support
* Deploy and maintain network hardware, peripherals, services, and settings in accordance with industry standards and project/operational requirements
* Perform daily system monitoring; verifies the integrity and availability of networking hardware, services, systems, and key processes; reviews system and application logs
* Document and perform network upgrades and modifications during ASI windows
* Provides on-call troubleshooting and issue resolution as required
* Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
* Partner with the information security personnel to assess potential exposure to vulnerabilities, identify mitigation plans, and ensure compliance with enterprise security baselines and standards
* Act as a liaison with other groups to provide information sharing pertaining to the needs of the diverse set of computer users supported by the client as a whole.
* Develop scripts and other automation solutions to aid in the completion of migration and integration tasks.
* Review problems to understand the root causes of issues and ensure proper fixes are implemented
* Provide phone support to users during the time of peak demand as needed.
* Inform management in a clear, concise, and timely manner of any customer or technical issues
* Be responsive and decisive on adjusting architecture as customer requirements and technology evolves
* Coordinate with on-site support personnel while troubleshooting
* Use enterprise service management tools to initiate, respond, and track service requests
* Create reports and analyze performance metrics
* Adhere to change management processes and procedures

REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Active TS/SCI clearance
* Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (e.g., Security + CE)or higher
* 5+ years of related experience
* Bachelor's Degree in a related field OR equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
* Possess flexibility to operate in a highly dynamic environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness
* Detail oriented with ability to work well in a team environment
* Broad understanding of network infrastructure topologies, security policies, firewalls, and the L2/L3 switch and router infrastructure
* Extensive experience hardware troubleshooting, managing and monitoring the health of Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
* Deploying, managing, and troubleshooting network systems, switching, and routing protocol standards such as: TCP/IP, MPLS, OSPF, BGP, SDN, and802.1x.
* Managing and troubleshooting DNS, DHCP, IPAM, and NTP in a large multi-site environment
* Using network management and analysis tools such as SNMP probes, network taps, and traffic analyzers
* Network Management & Performance platforms, such as NetScout, IBM NetCool, Solarwinds NMS products, NetBrain, Infovista
* Managing Cisco Prime/Junos Space
* Experience w/Building configurations using CLI
* Experience w/Network security, including firewall, IDS/IPS, VPN, and vulnerability remediation
* Creating & updating network topologies using Visio
* Creating and documenting processes and creating work instructions
* Working as a part of a large team and working directly with customers
* Supporting teleworkers and remote access technologies
* Creating scripts to automate routine administration tasks

DESIRED SKILLS:
* Experience with F5 load balancers to include troubleshooting , configuring, upgrading, maintaining, and monitoring an enterprise F5 load balancer network architecture
* F5 Network certification
* Experience with Infoblox IP Address Management (IPAM) and DHCP
* Experience utilizing Remedy ITSM
* Experience administering and troubleshooting server operating systems such as Linux, Windows, or UNIX
* Experience with LDAP/PKI
