Product Marketing Manager, New Bets - Commerce

Job Description

Facebook seeks a product marketer who is knowledgeable and passionate about developing new products within Facebooks Commerce incubation team. This role will be at the center of driving the incubation and successful launch of New Bets within Facebook Commerce. The New Bets team focus is to develop 0 to 1 projects, from ideation to the launch of MVP and testing initial product market fit. Amongst the New Bets that the candidate will support, most of the initial focus will be on the Faith Vertical, which intends to connect and bring together faith-based communities, leveraging Facebooks unique assets. The ideal candidate will have experience with and strong perspectives on building 0 to 1 products and solutions, as well as familiarity and interest for the faith space and communities and general understanding of the commerce industry landscape, trends, and business models. She or he must have experience effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive results, and developing and executing against global launch plans to bring digital commerce or advertising products to market. Excellent analytical and communication skills and comfort with ambiguity are a must.

Product Marketing Manager, New Bets - Commerce Responsibilities

* Lead market assessment, quantitative analysis, qualitative feedback, and represent the market internally with Product Management and Engineering

* Identify significant long-term opportunities based on research, analysis, and a strategic view of the direction and trends in the market

* Collaborate closely with the team of Product Managers to define the vision and strategic direction and priorities for Facebook Commerce New Bets

* Plan and lead cross-functional team efforts to drive successful product launches (including alpha and beta testing programs) and define the path to initial product market fit

* Define and manage comprehensive go-to-market strategy and plan including positioning, policy, launch strategy, and public relations

* Set the outbound priorities for our suite of New Bets, drive alignment with partner teams to support those priorities, and ensure they ladder up to Facebook's Commerce overarching strategic goals

* Create multi-year, annual, and semi-annual plans to build trust and mitigate risk through this portfolio of products

* Communicate the value proposition of new products to all go-to-market teams and ensure that effective sales support materials and packages are created

* Craft briefing materials and present to executives on a regular basis

Minimum Qualifications

* BA/BS degree

* 8+ years work experience at a strategy consulting firm, investment bank or working directly on digital native companies building communities

* Experience driving strategic analysis to influence and drive 0 to 1 product development and product launch efforts

* Project management experience scoping and manages projects, and delivering outcomes against timelines

* Quantitative analytical experience and leveraging data to inform and support business priorities

* Experience simplifying complexity and experience communicating with technical, business, and external stakeholders

* Experience setting priorities, problem solving, multi-tasking, and working independently

* Experience contributing at both strategic and operational levels

* Experience with incubation to bootstrap products quickly and with high-quality

* Sensitivity, empathy, and appreciation for the needs of people of faith and faith-based communities

Preferred Qualifications

* MBA

* Experience working in the faith vertical or similar preferred

* Experience in a start-up environment

* Experience working in a product marketing or general management capacity (partnered closely with product management and/or engineering to represent market requirements and with sales to support product launches)
