Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for owning manufacturing process at contract manufacturing partners including laying out floor plan, setting up & Qualifying FATP lines, driving yield and UPH improvement, developing and implementing quality system, driving cost and cycle time reduction, and driving ramp and MP readiness. You will be a key member of the Technical Operations team and will partner closely with Hardware Engineering, Quality, Test Engineering and our Manufacturing partners driving NPI manufacturing process readiness to ensure new products ramped and launched on time. Ideal candidates are those with experience in high volume mass production. Candidates must have strong manufacturing process experience. This must also be complemented with strong interpersonal and communication skills, keen focus on driving business results, ability to work in ambiguous environments, and strong willingness to collaborate and optimize overall business objectives.

System Industrial Engineer Responsibilities

* Work with contract manufacturing (CM) partners on yield improvement and process troubleshooting

* Work with CM partner to design and layout the FATP (final assembly, test, and pack-out) line by applying lean and Six Sigma technology

* Develop manufacturing processes at the factory and drive line qualifications by working with cross-functional teams and CM partners

* Work with cross-functional teams (HW Engineering, Operations and manufacturing partner teams) to drive ramp and MP readiness

* Drive cost and cycle time reduction through line balancing, and line automation

* Drive FACA (Failure Analysis Corrective Action) and yield bridge to mass production

* Influence product manufacturability, testability, serviceability, reliability, flexibility and cost effectiveness by coordinating cross-functional teams during early development and ramp

* Ability to travel up to 30 to 40% to Asia Pacific region

Minimum Qualifications

* 4+ years of experience in Operations engineering activities

* Demonstrated technical skills and experience, including a detailed understanding of Final Assembly, Test, Pack and SMT processes

* Experience driving China-based manufacturers

* Experience in using process driven and analytical approaches to problem-solving (Six Sigma, 8D, FMEA, etc.)

* Working knowledge of GD&T, data analysis and statistics experience

* Proven bottom line project management experience (Planning, Cost, & Delivery)

* Proven interpersonal and communication skills

* Experience operating in dynamic, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with optical systems and or Clean room setup

* Experience with automated system bring up and qualification

* Data analysis experience using JMP

* PMP Certification

* NX or ProE experience

* Tolerance Analysis experience
