Job Description

Facebook designs, builds, leases and operates the most innovative and efficient data centers in the world. Developing, operating, and managing the data center infrastructure and facilities the right way is synonymous with ensuring business operations, capacity availability, global portfolio flexibility and cost efficiency in a safe working environment. Facebook evaluates sites around the world for data center development, and is seeking a Water Team Manager to join and manage the water team for our global data center portfolio. This position will report directly to the Manager of the Environment & Water Team. This position is full-time and travel may be needed occasionally to visit our data center sites and attend water utility meetings.

Water Team Manager Responsibilities

* Manage a growing team of 4+ water engineers

* Drive strategy, alignment and prioritization across the discipline with cross functional partners in site selection, sustainability, operations and construction

* Work with the Data Center leadership team to build a long-term strategic vision and goals for the water program

* Establish strategy across the team by building alignment on priorities leading to project and program execution

* Creatively define and establish processes and reviews to support decision making, prioritization and track and measure progress

* Explore new ways to measure and communicate the value and impact of water and wastewater management to drive goal-setting and goal reporting each half

* Manage team budget planning and requests

* Strengthen foundation of water management integration into site selection, design, construction, sustainability and operations

* Facilitate the growth of the water program within Facebook Data Centers as the company continues to grow and build water stewardship and excellence

* Identify, monitor and establish company positions on relevant water policy changes for our data centers

* Strengthen the water program and build a better communications strategy

* Create and expand on programs to share team learnings across the organization

* Provide water expertise to diverse internal teams and coordinate with other teams about relevant issues and requirements

* Support team in develop training and educational tools regarding water management, compliance and awareness

* Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed (up to 25%)

Minimum Qualifications

* P.E. and 15+ years professional experience in water resources management, hydrology, hydrogeology, water and wastewater infrastructure projects, or a related field

* 4+ years of direct people management experience

* Background establishing programs, supporting teams, and developing relationships

* Technical experience related to industrial water use and wastewater discharge, water efficiency techniques, as well as water policy and permitting, especially in the U.S.

* Professional experience in working with water utilities

* Skilled in data management software, such as excel

* Self-motivator and experience executing and tracking tasks

* Proven communication skills, especially achieving alignment across multiple discipline
