Job Description

Facebook Portal seeks a Camera Software Engineer. The successful candidate will have a good understanding of Video and Image Capture pipeline for embedded devices Hardware and Software. The candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills. This is a full-time position based in our Menlo Park office.

Camera Software Engineer, Portal Responsibilities

* Design, code, review, and tests camera related software features across all layers of the camera stack, including Android applications, Camera HAL and Linux kernel.

* All aspects of performance and system efficiency for the camera system, including providing detailed analysis and developing optimized system designs and code.

* Work closely with System Engineering Team, Hardware team, manufacturing partners and QA teams to deliver best in class products.

* Ensure security of the camera system, protecting our users' privacy.

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Knowledge of Video and Image Capture pipelines for consumer electronic products.

* Experience developing HAL implementations for Android devices.

* Experience developing and debugging in C/C++.

* 5+ years of experience creating software for embedded/mobile platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience developing Android Camera HAL implementations, preferably experience with Camera HAL3.

* Experience with OpenGL and/or OpenCL programming.

* Experience developing Android Camera application in Java and/or Kotlin.
