Job Description

Business Integrity's mission is to ensure safe and trusted connections between people, businesses, and Facebook. Our team works together to anticipate and predict potential threats to our platform, design and build tools to protect against these threats, and then implement and enforce these systems at scale. We leverage data analysis, machine learning and a robust infrastructure to review the quality of promoted content on our platform. We partner closely with several cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, and data science, to ensure high quality and safe experiences for both people and businesses across the Facebook family of apps. Successful candidates for this team are adaptable, creative, have a bias toward action, aren't afraid of being wrong, and can successfully work across various teams & countries. This role will focus on investigating new trends in fraud and abuse to take fast action and shape long-term strategies.

Technical Investigator Responsibilities

* Work on a team of technical individuals using analytical thinking to solve for constant investigations of system abuse

* Ability to creatively self-identify gaps, problems, needs and come up with robust solutions with relative independence

* Utilize data analysis skills to investigate and help solve abusive trends across product lines

* Partner with cross-functional teams such as Product, Software Engineering, and other integrity-focused groups to lead or contribute to large scale strategic projects as well as solve ongoing operational problems at scale

* Use engineering and analytical skill sets in a business organization to drive meaningful business impact by looking at problems through an operational lens

Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelors degree in Engineering or quantitative disciplines such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Information Systems

* 2+ years of relevant analytics or industry experience

* Data analysis skills including analyses and/or root cause analyses

* Analytical skills with experience investigating and solving problems using data and providing practical business insights

* Experience building data structures, queries and reports with SQL, Python or other languages/tools

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with online fraud investigations and mitigating time-sensitive escalations

* Experience with object-oriented programming

* Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (C++, PHP, Java, JavaScript)

* Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
