Internal Communications Manager, Strategic Response

Job Description

Facebook is looking for an Internal Communications Manager for Strategic Response to join its People (HR) Communications team. The team's purpose is to share the many ways that Facebook cares about our people, whether its through our benefits, training, diversity and inclusion efforts, compensation, or many other people programs and philosophies.
In this role, youll be a key member of Facebooks People Communications team and a strategic advisor to our HR leadership to drive rapid response communications on Facebooks most pressing people-centric issues. You will work cross-functionally to drive teams toward a common goal quickly, and help our employees understand our policies and philosophies to support them through different issues or challenges with deep care. Depending on the issue, you will work closely with HR, Legal, Internal Communications, PR, Security, Facilities, and others.
You enjoy a fast-paced and complex environment and are able to ask the right questions in order to get a quick understanding of a situation to craft an authentic response. You see beyond the challenges and think creatively about solutions. You stay focused and flexible in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
You are passionate about Facebook's mission to build community, and just as passionate about the people we serve. You should have a strong understanding of Facebooks business, global impact, and culture. Excellent community relations, crisis communications, communications strategy, content development, and pristine executive communication skills are crucial.

Internal Communications Manager, Strategic Response Responsibilities

* Lead internal communications activities on many of Facebook's most pressing and difficult People/HR issues

* Act as a strategic advisor through crisis and be able to quickly drive the team towards an effective communications strategy

* Quickly prepare executive messaging and other internal materials such as posts and briefings when needed

* Partner with our communications, HR, legal, and leadership teams to influence, understand and communicate People policies and philosophies that care for employees

* Drive proactive and reactive communications internally and partner with other internal communications teams, as appropriate

* Work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, and also work collaboratively on a team

* Build strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders across the company including our central strategic response teams to establish a clear and effective engagement model

Minimum Qualifications

* 10+ years work experience in internal, corporate, or HR communications

* Extensive experience in issues management and crisis communications

* Experience drafting executive and employee messaging materials working with cross-functional groups

* Experience managing multiple deliverables and working in a deadline driven environment

* Record of building relationships and advising at the executive level

* Experience translating and establishing an authentic leaders voice through written communications

Preferred Qualifications

* Bachelors degree, post-graduate or degree in communications, marketing or business

* Experience in the technology industry

* Knowledge in People/Culture/HR

* Experience working cross-functionally in different job functions (technology vs. non-technology)
