Head of Facebook App, Product Operations

Job Description

The Product Operations organization is critical to the performance, reliability, and usability of all Facebook Incs products. The team is part of Product Support Operations (PSO) in our Global Operations organization and partners closely with product and engineering to propel a simple vision: every user interaction works well. We do this by owning the operational management and analysis of user feedback from identification to resolution including the triage of product defects identified during testing, analysis of testing feedback to inform product quality pre-launch, and investigation of issues shared by Facebooks worldwide community. As a Manager supporting the development, launch, and growth of the Facebook Apps products, you are responsible for managing a team of Product Development Specialists and Product Specialists who partner across Facebook Apps product, engineering, data science, design, research, and vendors teams to improve product quality through the lens of the user experience.

You will be required to showcase excellent leadership, problem solving especially in ambiguity, project management, and communication skills across a highly cross-functional stakeholder base. You will form relationships with leaders from Product Management, Engineering, UX Research, Data Science, and Design to ensure your team has the resources they need to be successful. We are looking for someone who is able to influence business decisions through quantitative and qualitative insights that continually drive to optimize users experiences with a strong focus on correcting defects that improve the reliability of Facebooks products. A leader in this role will be passionate about building teams, including the operational processes and reporting that support them at scale, a cultural leader, and systems thinker who can lead a team to effectively break down problems and scope solutions.

Head of Facebook App, Product Operations Responsibilities

* Set the vision for the Product Operations team supporting the Facebook App

* Create structure and frameworks to solve ambiguous business problems in repeatable and scalable ways, driving for clear business outcomes

* Lead data driven operational planning, resourcing and optimization of support across various product needs and stages of maturity

* Lead key cross-product initiatives that improve the user experience, leveraging exceptional communication to develop recommendations to executives, including product and operations leadership

* Rigorously sets and measures operational metrics and outcomes, continually improving processes through industry-leading methods

* Be a cross-organization thought leader on product quality and become a prominent advocate representing our user community to product and operations leadership

* Recruit, develop and lead a large high performing team of Product Operations Managers, Product Development Specialists and Product Specialists

Minimum Qualifications

* 12+years of experience in corporate or product operations

* 5+ years of people management experience

* Demonstrated experience influencing across functional boundaries and/or globally

* Analytical and problem-solving experience

Preferred Qualifications

* MBA or Masters Degree

* Experience in bringing products from concept through the product lifecycle

* Experience in working collaboratively with product and engineering leaders in a technology company or consulting firm

* Experience leading ambiguous and less defined environments
