Brand Strategist - Messenger

Job Description

Messenger is looking for a Brand Strategist with experience and passion for building strong brands. This role will be responsible for driving the brand forward through a quantitative and analytical perspective. This role will partner closely with leaders across the organization to both guide and support major initiatives that advance our brand and business ambitions. Although Messenger is very much a global brand, the team is currently focused on the US as the immediate priority. The ideal individual for this role is uniquely capable of both right and left brain thinking. You will bring together a rigorous analytical mindset with a deep appreciation and understanding of building brands. This person should feel comfortable working with data and partnering closely with analysts and data scientists to commission quantitative analysis. You need to be comfortable taking initiative and have the ability to move fast and iterate along the way. Success in this role depends on being able to distill vast amounts of information, connect dots, and then develop actionable models and frameworks that will empower our teams and enable efficient decision making. This individual will bring the unique perspective needed to resolve complex brand and marketing challenges across the organization. They are a ruthless editor able to simplify extreme complexity and bring multiple stakeholders along with clarity and understanding. This person possesses an innate understanding of how to manage and evolve a highly visible consumer brand through deep product knowledge, data-driven insights and marketing best practices.

Brand Strategist - Messenger Responsibilities

* Become an expert of Messengers products, audience, and surrounding competitive context

* Commission and analyze various studies in partnership with internal research/data teams and working with external specialists as needed

* Develop powerful insights from internal and external dashboards, data sets, and trends that will help drive our brand and business forward

* Develop marketing strategies that bring focus and prioritization to what we invest in as a business in order to maximize growth and impact

* Craft communication strategies and briefs that shape the articulation of Messengers brand and marketing strategy, ensuring consistency across all touch points

* Clear and compelling presentation of strategies and ideas to stakeholders both within and outside of marketing, always grounded in data and sound rationale

* Contribute to the ongoing exploration and refinement of the Messenger brand and what it represents

* Develop highly actionable models, toolkits, and frameworks to help teams effectively and consistently activate the brand strategy

* Contribute to campaign evaluation and optimization

Minimum Qualifications

* 8+ years experience in brand strategy, marketing strategy, marketing analytics, or management consulting

* Highly skilled in the development of data-driven insights and application of insights and data to develop strategic recommendations

* Hands-on experience rolling out cross-org strategies, change management, and building plans for implementation

* Proven experience developing and delivering valuable strategic frameworks and solutions

* Experience collaborating with and leading productive cross-functional and decentralized teams

* Knowledgeable in research methodologies, data modeling and algorithms, and general practices of analysis/synthesis

* Proven communication skills with experience presenting to leadership

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in marketing analytics or management consulting with marketing focus

* Experience working in tech sector working with product teams

* Entrepreneurial spirit and experience to be successful in fast-paced environments
