As a Product Designer, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next product innovation to tweaking pixels right before launch. You will use your start-up mindset and your full range of product design, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping skills to produce elegantly simple designs. You'll be expected to push the boundaries of what's possible in a mobile app, while sharing in our healthy obsession for quality. This position has a 16-week duration. All candidates are expected to commit to a consecutive 16-week timeframe for successful completion of the program. At the end of the term, those participants who have demonstrated their ability to succeed and make an impact at Facebook will be considered for a full-time position. Roles are filled as candidates are identified. This program is open to all candidates who have relevant professional experience and have been out of the workforce for 2 years or longer immediately prior to the start of the program. Return to Work- Product Designer, WhatsApp Responsibilities

* Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for our 2 billion plus users

* Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant for our supported platforms

* Design new experiences or layouts that evolve and/or define visual systems

* Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality

* Partner with product managers, engineers, UX researchers and content designers to iterate and oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch

Minimum Qualifications

* 2+ years of experience building and shipping applications or software at the level of whole features/products across a variety of platforms

* 2+ years of interaction design experience with experience defining how an experience should behave based on understanding people's needs

* 2+ years of visual design experience with proficiency in typography, desktop/mobile UI, color, layout, iconography and aesthetic sense

* Experience understanding product goals, identify opportunities, and make decisions based on the impact to people and the company

* Experience articulating the goals of your team clearly and succinctly

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience with prototyping (using Principle, Origami, Framer etc.)

* Good understanding of Android and iOS design patterns
