Pillar Lead Role, XROS

Job Description

The Pillar Lead for XROS will be responsible for overseeing the development of our operating systems for Facebook Reality Labs (FRL) devices, including Android (AOSP) OS work which supports our VR products (Quest line) and our wearables (glasses) line which we announced at Facebook Connect 2020, as well as other fundamental OS and silicon investments to hyper optimize for power, low latency, and security. The team has world-class OS engineering depth and capability, and collaborates closely with peer teams in AR and VR. They are building the bedrock components for VR headsets and AR glasses, as well as a platform roadmap and a strategy for delivering on it. The XROS team needs a leader who is a great communicator and collaborator to drive awareness and buy-in across all levels of the FRL organization.

Pillar Lead Role, XROS Responsibilities

* Clarify and drive our strategy for delivering platform capabilities, aligned closely with the product needs so that the product teams feel it is one plan inclusive of hardware and software, at both the platform and experience levels.

Minimum Qualifications

* 10+ years of experience leading successful large scale Engineering and PM teams, and can recruit, land and grow senior managers and ICs.

* Experience working on Operating System products and devices, and knows how to navigate the challenges of integrating and delivering hardware and software to provide a great product for customers.

* Proven communication skill and demonstrated success crafting clear narratives for complex technical areas which excite the imagination, align energies, and create a clear course of action.

* Experience as a great collaborator, experience building models & processes for aligning work across large teams, experience building the relationships needed to cut through obstacles and quickly resolve problems.
