Job Description

Facebook is looking for an Associate General Counsel to join its Compliance Programs Office within the Legal department. The team's mission is to build and manage compliance programs that drive proactive risk mitigation at scale and foster a culture of ethics and compliance. In this role, you will support Facebook's compliance with legal and regulatory requirements by building, maintaining, and improving our risk and controls infrastructure, with a particular focus on third party risk management efforts across the company. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel legal, policy and regulatory issues at the forefront of technology in an exciting, fast-paced environment. Associate General Counsel, Compliance Programs Risks & Controls Responsibilities

* Advise on and drive development, improvement, and maintenance of third-party risk management controls and associated processes, policies, and documents across legal risk areas

* Provide compliance expertise and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to oversee run state third-party risk management processes

* Prepare internal stakeholders for and lead on engagements with internal testing and monitoring functions and external assessors examining the sufficiency of compliance program design and operationalization

* Drive compliance program remedial efforts identified as a result of internal and external program examination

* Undertake special projects and support other compliance program initiatives, as needed

Minimum Qualifications

* J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar

* 8+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, with 2+ years in a compliance-related consultancy or legal practice

* Experience providing programmatic legal and compliance guidance across a variety of legal issues and risk areas (e.g., privacy, anti-corruption, political activities, trade) to business stakeholders

* Experience advising on, designing, implementing, or assessing processes and controls intended to facilitate regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications

* In-house experience at internet, technology, or telecommunications companies

* Experience with third-party risk management programs

* Experience and comfort working with data, including to measure program performance and effectiveness, inform priorities and deliver insights to stakeholders

* Experience working with or in support of diverse communities

* Adept at delivering practical advice under pressure and prioritizing work

* Interpersonal experience and experience collaborating with teams to solve problems
