Global Employment Tax Project Lead

Job Description

Facebook is seeking to fill the position of a Global Project Lead for the global employment tax team. The successful candidate will be a thought leader with a proven record of running global projects with multiple cross functional partners and building organized processes for global teams. The role will maintain a critical connection to Facebooks payroll, benefits and HR function to ensure Facebooks benefit & compensation programs meet the needs of our growing workforce and the ever-changing tax landscape. It will also play an active role in identifying and developing creative and innovative ways to improve employment tax compliance and strategic planning. The successful candidate will need to be comfortable operating in an environment with ambiguities, where significant judgement is needed to resolve issues. They must also have the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment and work closely and proactively with numerous functional teams across our organization. In addition, the role will assist in setting priorities and project direction for the team. Reporting to the head of Global Employment Tax, this is a high impact role that is expected to work closely with cross functional leaders, company leadership and regional employment tax leads.

Global Employment Tax Project Lead Responsibilities

* Drive strategic thought leadership and cross functional engagement strategies by collaborating heavily with regional employment tax leads, cross functional partners and business leaders

* Oversee global projects within the employment tax team and set priorities and direction

* Play a lead role in driving projects to completion and in communicating strategically to align others on common goals & outcomes

* Act as a point of contact between cross functional teams and the employment tax team to align project initiatives and implement internal processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws

* Partner closely with our payroll, benefit and HR functions to ensure Facebooks benefit & compensation programs meet the needs of our growing workforce and maintain compliance

* Identify and activate resources to support the evaluation and implementation of strategic priorities for the team

Minimum Qualifications

* 12+ years of relevant tax experience in Big 4 and/or Tech industry or related field

* Bachelors degree in tax or related field

* Technical tax knowledge with demonstrated experience in tax planning, tax compliance, and tax controversy

* Experience operating autonomously and managing projects, priorities, and stakeholders

* Experience working and collaborating in a cross-functional global environment including business functions and business segments

* Leadership experience aligning visions, goals and resources and delivering results

* Technical competency in areas of payroll tax, benefit tax, equity related tax issues and regulatory compliance globally

* Demonstrated people skills in helping solving complex system-wide challenges and in leading teams who work effectively with each other to provide strategic and operational support

* Communication skills working closely with regional tax leads to convey effective and precise advice to cross functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

* Project management qualification and experiences

* Experiences working directly with leadership

* International secondment and experience working internationally

* Experience in working with multiple cultures
