Job Description

The Content Design discipline is looking for a Strategy & Operations Manager to strengthen the foundation of how the Content Design team operates, communicates and drives impact across the Facebook family of apps and services. The Strategy & Operations Manager will partner with the VP of Content Design and the CD leadership team to drive org-wide operations, programming and internal communications in order to align content design work across Facebook, strengthen our internal narrative, and maximize the value that CD provides to the company. As a Strategy & Operations Manager, you will drive important org-wide initiatives across all phases, from early exploration to execution. You will develop and provide strategic vision to cross-functional teams and projects and ensure their successful delivery. This person would become an integral and critical member of our leadership team, and help us strengthen our community across Content Design. Ideal candidates will be strategic thinkers, with an ability to break down complex problems and spot and overcome gaps or obstacles. They should have excellent judgement and be strong communicators, and have experience leading communication strategy for an internal audience. Finally, theyll be a strong team player, with a demonstrated ability to partner and drive alignment with stakeholders and support others to achieve shared goals.

Strategy & Operations Manager Responsibilities

* Drive strategy, alignment and prioritization across the discipline

* Work with the CD leadership team to build a long-term strategic vision and goals across the discipline

* Establish strategy across the team by building consensus on priorities leading to product execution

* Creatively define and establish processes and reviews to support decision making, prioritization and track and measure progress

* Explore new ways to measure and communicate the value and impact of content design: partner with CD leads to drive goal-setting and goal reporting each half

* Audit and strengthen foundation of operations

* Drive weekly Content Design leadership meetings to align on team and company initiatives, drive meeting agendas, track action items and share out relevant information with broader team

* Drive and scale hiring prioritization and allocation process for new hires in partnership with CD leads

* Support monthly CD-wide team meetings (All Hands, Q&As and monthly manager meetings ) in partnership with CD managers and admins

* Manage team budget planning and requests

* Identify and implement additional operations improvements across the CD team

* Strengthen voice of CD and build a better communications strategy

* Create and help execute proactive and reactive internal communication strategy for Head of Content Design and leadership team

* Create and expand on programs to share out content design wins and team narrative within the team and beyond

* Support Team Development/Community Development

* Create programs that help the team connect and build a strong sense of community and support

* Drive offsite and summit programming for leadership team

Minimum Qualifications

* 8+ years of experience as a producer, project manager or program manager with a background establishing programs, supporting teams, and developing relationships

* 2+ years of direct people management experience

* Experience working with design disciplines as well as cross-functional teams

* Track record of operating independently, being detail-oriented, demonstrating strategic thinking about trade-offs, setting clear expectations, and delivering results in that meet established goals

* Successful in fast-paced environment that requires independent time management, task prioritization, flexibility, and experience identifying problems and proactively working towards solutions

* Proven communication skills
