This position supports the research and study activities designed to evaluate, measure, and verify (EM&V) the energy and demand savings and benefits of Eversource's electric and gas energy efficiency (EE), demand response, and other energy management programs. This position synthesizes, applies, and reports the results of these activities to fulfill regulatory filing requirements, improve existing programs, and plan future programs.

* Coordinate the planning, design, execution, review, and delivery of EM&V studies in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut. These studies include impact, market, and process evaluations; market characterization or assessment studies; and evaluations of demonstration projects.
* Manage the EM&V work being performed by the evaluation contractors, including developing and reviewing RFPs; administering contracts and invoices; developing and reviewing study work plans, sample designs, and budgets; and reviewing deliverables in terms of meeting the pertinent research questions and objectives, level of statistical and analytical rigor, transparency, and timeliness. Help ensure that the results of EM&V studies are being applied appropriately to Eversources portfolio of programs.
* Coordinate with Eversource's EE implementation, sales, marketing, and business analytics groups.
* Oversee and coordinate the collection, tracking, analysis, and sharing of large and often complex customer and EE performance data and information to estimate and document the impacts of EE programs.
* Quantitatively assess the cost-effectiveness of Eversource's EE measures and programs using established benefit cost models.
* Update Technical Reference Manuals and data tracking systems to reflect revised inputs, assumptions, and savings estimates based on recent evaluation study results.
* Track recommendations from evaluation and the status of their implementation.
* Attend regular coordination meetings with stakeholders inside and outside the company. Provide updates on evaluation projects and gather program staff feedback.
* Conduct other EE- and energy-related research and analysis of new and emerging measures and technologies such as demand response, electric vehicles, solar, and battery and thermal storage. Assist with special projects as assigned.
* Maintain an industry presence through representation and participation in industry related organizations, conferences, and events.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skill:

* Familiarity with energy efficiency technologies and their application in residential and/or commercial/industrial sectors.
* Experience with engineering and/or cost benefit analysis.
* Knowledge of statistical techniques related to sampling and regression analysis.
* Extensive spreadsheet and database skills, including a high level of proficiency in Excel.
* Also required are communication, writing and presentation skills.

Education:Requires a Bachelor's Degree in a field that requires quantitative analysis and/or data-based problem solving such as engineering, statistics, data analytics, energy systems, economics, business, or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Experience: Three plus years of experience in engineering analysis, financial and statistical modeling, market research, operations research, program evaluation or policy analysis.

In 2012, Northeast Utilities and its operating companies Connecticut Light & Power, Public Service of New Hampshire, Western Massachusetts Electric and Yankee Gas merged with NSTAR Electric & Gas to better serve New England.

On December 4, 2017, Eversource closed the deal on an acquisition of Aquarion Water Company, making Eversource the only electric company in the U.S. that also owns a water utility. Aquarion serves 230,000 water customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
