Operations Process & Systems Manager

Job Description

Major Responsibilities

* Become the process and systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the assigned areas (example: Inbound, Outbound, Inventory Control).
* Collaborate with leaders within our internal supply chain on continuous improvement projects, related to operational efficiencies, improved services and quality.
* Partner with IT to identify and create system-related solutions and enhancements to serve the business and it's changing needs.
* Create and manage testing requirements for system solutions with IT and supply chain leadership.
* Serve as a 'gatekeeper' and maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Make recommendations and engage to support the organization's 1-3-year strategic plan for warehouse operations.
* Identify and recommend new process improvements, supply chain opportunities, technological enhancements and workflow efficiencies. Provide the necessary documentation to support the initiatives and assist in developing the business case.
* Ability to lead cross-functional business teams to create solutions that improve facilities process consistency, enhance the customer experience and drive technological advancements.
* Ability to train and influence operators within the internal supply chain.
* Ability to communicate effectively and to take strong and sometimes contrary positions when required.
* Promote a culture that fosters innovation and sharing best practices between facilities and across functions within the supply chain.
* Support efforts to ensure supply chain functions are meeting service level requirements for customers, provide immediate feedback when opportunities arise, and initiate remediation as needed.

Skills/Knowledge Required

* Warehouse Management System experience is required.
* Root cause analysis skills and workflow improvement ability are required.
* Six Sigma, Lean, 5S certification and training are strongly preferred.
* Expert ability to lead and work with cross-functional business teams or process improvement teams.
* Strong problem-solving skills - analysis, inquiry, fact finding and solution identification.
* Strong written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate thoughts and influence others.
* Ability to create business requirement documents (new processes, system enhancements, etc.) for IT and leadership.
* Strong organizational, project management and coordination skills.
* Strong time management skills and proven ability to work within constrictive timelines.
* Strong PC skills: Outlook, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and other data gathering software tools (ie Hyperion).
* Strong customer-focus.
* Limited travel may be required (less than 10%).

Education and Experience

* Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
* Minimum of five years of experience in a supply chain management role.
* Minimum of three years of project management experience.
