Job Summary

This is a represented student position. Students in this position will be doing union work, will be subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and will pay union dues.

Key Accountabilities

Work consists of those tasks traditionally completed by the unionized work force for that area. Tasks are mainly focused around maintaining the condition of DTE assets. Tasks could, but may not necessarily, include:

* Mowing
* Painting
* Cleaning
* General Maintenance
* Labeling
* Changing marker decals
* Refuse clean-up

The exact work assigned changes per location and is dictated by what is considered union work at that site. Students are required to pay union dues.

Qualifications

* Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to participate in the program.
* Graduate seniors, from high school, who will be attending college in the upcoming Fall term, are eligible to participate, if they meet age requirements.
* All students must be, at least, 18 years of age by the time they start working to be eligible.
* Have a 2.0 minimum, cumulative GPA.
* College students will be asked to provide an official transcript as proof of eligibility prior to receiving an offer letter of employment. High School Seniors will be asked to provide a college acceptance letter prior to receiving an offer letter of employment.
* Some positions will require driving. Those positions will require the student to have a valid driver's license, a reliable means of transportation and an acceptable driving record.
* Students must be able to work outside, in incremental weather.
* Walking and standing for 6 hours or greater could be a job requirement.
