D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for an Underwriter Trainer. The right candidate will provide training, development, and support to the department Underwriters.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Train all new Underwriters on Loan Origination Systems and DHIM policies and procedures
Conduct test case reviews for all new Underwriters and grade them as pass or fail
Performs monthly file audits as per department audit procedures
Perform training and review test cases for new Direct Endorsement & Lender Appraisal Processing Program (LAPP) Underwriter candidates
Provide guideline support and assistance to all Underwriters
Prepare and perform training presentations as needed
Evaluate overall Underwriter performance
Able to work overtime
Able to travel overnight
Update and maintain current training materials
Identify trends in material errors

Required Qualifications

Bachelor%27s degree from four-year college or university and/or three years of underwriting experience
Must have an FHA Direct Endorsement/VA LAPP and Staff Appraisal Reviewer (SARS)
Must have a valid and current Mortgage Loan Originator License as required per state regulations
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applications
Proficiency with MS Office and email
Ability to sit for majority of 8-hour workday; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and peripheral vision
The noise level is generally moderate
