Job Title: Brazer

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt/Fulltime

Location: South Chesterfield, VA

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Understanding the brazing operation and identify proper brazing tools for brazing copper.
* Identify and comprehend all blueprints on how copper should be brazed.
* Identify copper and descriptions using work order information.
* Performs brazing of copper to copper and brass to copper.
* Identify all sub-assembly parts to be braze according to the work order.
* Performs appropriate preventative maintenance on brazing equipment.
* Able to lift up to fifty pounds.
* Must be flexible in job duties.
* Comply with all company policies and procedures.
* Confers with lead to determine status of assigned projects.
* Maintains work area in clean, safe, and orderly manner.
* Understand procedures for ordering supplies used in work area.
* Understand location of parts/supplies and contacts for order notification.
* Have working understanding and knowledge of all basic safety training items (HazMat, reporting of work injuries, etc.) specific to your work area.
* Exhibits positive courteous behavior with customers and coworkers
* Make sure we follow all work procedures.
* Other duties may be assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasional, and at times heavy, overtime and extended hours are required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
