Summary:

Leads and develops a culture of excellence for all manufacturing areas within the plant. Responsible for all manufacturing operations activities and issues. Leads, directs, and coordinates activates of production department(s) in processing materials or manufacturing products by performing the following duties:

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for the safety of all employees in the production areas with involvement in EH&S related activities.
* Leads and champions continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.
* Works closely with Supervisors, Team Leaders and production personnel on all shifts to provide coaching, guidance and instruction on proper processes.
* Works to modify and continuously improve processes to build quality into all processes, decrease lead/cycle times. Reduce costs and increase on time delivery.
* Works closely with Shop Supervisor to build a strong, motivated, efficient, well trained production team through effective feedback methods. Common methods include daily conversations throughout the shop, developing and implementing training programs, recognition programs, and timely performance appraisals.
* Reviews and prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
* Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
* Takes the lead in analyzing bottlenecks and areas of downtime, which could adversely impact customer satisfaction. Actively responds with positive actions to solve problems.
* Carries out and is supportive of company policies in all areas.
* Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the Production Supervisor in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree with at least 5 years of related experience and/or training.
LEAN and Kaizen background a plus.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong, hands-on knowledge of continuous improvement tools, concepts and implementation methods
Proactive, effective leadership, team and management skills
Thorough knowledge of industrial safety applications and responsibility
Strong computer skills, ERP/MRP experience required, Syteline experience a plus
Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically.
Production planning and scheduling experience a plus
