Position Title: Director of 0DOVER Learning & Development

Position Summary:

At its core, this position will be responsible for people development focusing on training, coaching, and behavior modeling. Success is defined in terms of training, certification, candidates funnel, learning and comprehension, successful certification, and business impact.

This role transcends applying operations improvement tools. It extends to leadership development and business growth focusing on purpose, strategy, organizational design, leadership, alignment, and culture.

Education and Talent certification will happen in the classroom, virtual classrooms with heavy development in sponsoring kaizen events, and implementing the 0Dover lean tools with the candidates.

This role will partner with other business units like as HR, Talent Acquisition and OpCo executive leadership to ensure priorities and areas of success.

This significant role will develop the operating companies' talent to implement the 0DOVER process and special projects as company acquisitions.

This position will also be responsible for driving Transformational Processes through the diligent use of Operational Excellence Tools and Methodologies.

This position requires a minimum of 50% travel.

Key Responsibilities, Knowledge, and Experience:

Training and Development Program:
Responsible for the development of the 0DOVER Sensei certification process and Implementation.
Providing thought leadership for operational excellence, growth & innovation, and leadership development topics via blogs, online webinars, live streams, and other modern communication forums.
Develop and deliver training in 0DOVER standards for sites kicking off formal and self-assessment processes; coaching development of site certification roadmaps with a focus on developing associate competencies through training and certification.
Creation and maintenance of a visually managed, online training and certification funnel with clear standard work for funnel maintenance, coaching, and certification.
Partnering with other Dover functions and businesses to develop and deliver a leadership training and coaching program focused on skills for driving operational excellence.
Identifying and sourcing key training and experiential learning partners (training providers, consulting companies, university programs, etc.).
Responsible for creating a solid pipeline of candidates at different levels of certification and creating a collaborative environment between OpCos to share resources to accelerate the 0DOVER systematic implementation and enhance the company's performance.
Other Responsibilities:

Creating and maintaining a 0DOVER web site to serve as a hub for communicating across Dovers global footprint
Driving the technology and adoption of online learning tools that allow a global reach with minimal related travel expenses.
Working with OpCos and support functions to provide meaningful recognition to top performers and successful certification candidates.
Utilize Design Thinking and Systems Thinking techniques to drive meaningfully unique innovation in processes and products across operations and engineering / R&D.
Provide an internal and external channel of communication for Dover Operational Excellence through the hosting of internal conferences and through speaking and facilitation engagements at key industry events.
Skills and Experience Required:

Experience defining Business strategy, Policy Deployment, Daily Management and Kaizen methodology.
Ability to combine initiative, integrity and professional discipline to accomplish difficult tasks in a collaborative manner by working effectively with all levels of the organization.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to make significant improvements in unstructured manufacturing environments.
Exceptional Training, Assessment and Coaching and Influencing skills to successfully deploy Operational Excellence Model and implement from start to finish effective Improvement Action Plans to support facilities as they embark on their Lean Journeys.
Ability to engage with numerous plants to direct, train and project manage all aspects of Operational Excellence.
Advanced Problem Solving and Negotiation skills, Ability to do effective Problem Solving able to define Problem Statement, engage, motivate and improve Operations across Manufacturing, Supply Chain and supporting functions.
Experience in Value Stream / Process Mapping: Current, Future and Ideal states.
Experience in leading and facilitating improvement initiatives in both transactional and non-transactional environments with emphasis in problem solving.
Subject Matter Expert in many of the Operational Excellence Standards.
Data driven: must be able to understand and explain business metrics and performance variance.
Experience in Supply Chain Optimization: Fabrication, Machining, Electronics and Plastic Injection Molding.
Manufacturing: Experienced in different Manufacturing Strategies including Make to Stock, Configured to Order and Engineering to Order.
Competent in Enterprise Resource Planning, Material Requirements Planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
Superior organization, time-management and prioritization. Demonstrated Project Management skills and ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
Modelling leadership behaviours and tool application by developing and facilitating on-site boot camps that immediately apply key learnings and provide business impact.
Candidate Qualifications:

10-15 years of progressive leadership experience including Plant Management and / or Operational Excellence roles in global organizations and multi-site environments.
Bachelors degree in Engineering or equivalent experience with a strong technical affinity.
MBA desired.
Lean Manufacturing Certification.
Green Belt or Black Belt Certification desired.
Proficient in MS Office.
Demonstrated record of achievement in driving change management across multi-site operation.
Proficient in reading and understanding business reports, especially ERP and Financial Reports
Advanced MS Office, video conferencing, and website management skills
Train the Trainer or similar related teacher training
