POSITION OVERVIEW:

Builds and assembles electronic components utilizing appropriate machinery and tools to ensure quality and proficiency in the completed product. Utilizes various soldering techniques determined specifically by product criteria. Must adhere to the building requirements and specifications shown in the MOP (manufacturing operating procedures) and BOM (bill of materials) and work instructions. Conducts inspection of completed work and cleans finished products according to established procedures. Must measure tolerances, use microscope for detailed work, troubleshoots and resolves problem areas. Records job specific data on forms, logs, time sheets and other required documentation. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, small hand tools (tweezers, cutters and screwdrivers), soldering irons, hot plates, microscope, calipers, cutting devices, cleaning machine and continuity testers.

QUALIFICATIONS SUMMARY:

High School Diploma or GED. Must have a minimum of 6 months or related experience or specialized training. Previous soldering experience or skills a must. J-STD or IPC certification preferred but not required. Mathematical skills required with emphasis on the ability to compute rates, ratios and percentage. Ability to interpret bar graphs. Thorough knowledge of calibration, reading drawings, blueprints and schematics.
