Job Description / Purpose of the Job
As a key member of a small team of experts, the job-holder will be engaged in engineering project work, to develop and improve metal packaging products and manufacturing processes, from ideas and concepts, through development and on to implementation in a Crown plant.
Typical Accountabilities
* Use CAD (SolidWorks) to design metal packaging components, tools, and machine parts.
* Organise and undertake product and process development work in the technical facilities at Crown Technology , setting up equipment and manufacturing samples for testing, demonstration and customer trials.
* Evaluation and proving of new product specifications.
* Generation of product manufacturing standards and specifications.
* Transfer technology into the manufacturing plants, preparing the necessary documentation, providing. commissioning support and demonstrating capability against dimensional and performance requirements.
* Provide a problem solving resource to the operations, helping resolve manufacturing issues in Crowns plants.
