CHS has an exciting opportunity in our Agronomy Division. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to aid in the maintenance and repair of agronomy associated equipment for crop nutrient and crop protection, (conveyors, pumps, etc.). You must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, be detail oriented, and be a self-starter with the ability to work unsupervised. You must also have a strong mechanical ability and mathematical aptitude.

You will:

* Assist the Terminal Manager to plan and implement repair and renovation projects and develop and maintain written maintenance and repair histories for facilities and equipment.
* Adhere to CHS policies for the protection, use, maintenance and disposition of company assets, fixtures, machinery and equipment.
* Assist with maintaining equipment lists with such information as machinery specifications, vendor information, drive unit specifications and other pertinent information for all equipment in the facility.
* Assist with maintaining equipment lists for future use in establishing histories and for decision-making about replacement, repair and maintenance of such equipment.
* Review and perform preventive and predictive maintenance on conveyors and equipment.
* Diagnose problems and repair equipment as needed, recognizing when to recommend outsourcing projects when necessary.
* Assist in backup for general company maintenance on an as-needed basis and be available for emergency repairs and assistance on larger projects.
* Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.

Basic Qualifications: (required)

* High School diploma or GED
* 1 plus years of experience to include:
* Experience with conveyors, material handling equipment, electrical circuits and motors
* Knowledge of welding and fabrication
* Ability to operate forklift
* Ability to lift 50 lbs, bend, turn, twist, climb ladders, stairs and bins
* Ability to work at various heights, in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
* Must hold and maintain a valid state drivers license
* Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed during planting season

Preferred Qualifications: (desired)

* Industrial Maintenance Certification
* Agricultural background
* Experience operating heavy equipment
