The Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division has an exciting opportunity for a Lead QA Software Engineer located in Englewood, Colorado. As a Lead QA Software Engineer at Caterpillar, you will work both independently and with a cooperative team on complex projects that may span multiple infrastructure components or applications. The position will develop a professional network and leadership skills, assisting in the creation and support of Digital Solutions that enable Caterpillar success. The position will also contribute real value by leading and assisting with the development testing of Remote Fleet Vision, purchased applications, and infrastructure solutions in order to solve business problems and improve software quality.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Lead the Remote Fleet Vision software test team to establish standards and expectations

* Report on and manage all bugs associated with RFV and assist in prioritizing their development solutions

* Understand and practice agile software development and management.

* Define and implement application architecture models and programming standards with direction setting support

* Design and implement the developers, testing, application monitoring/control, change management and implementation

* Defines and implements test systems and frameworks necessary to assure the quality of software

* Defines application development standards for designing, building, and maintaining and applications, application components, and common services including the recommended use of languages and tools

* Partners effectively with stakeholders to manage scope and deliverables for the technical side of the product roadmap

* Able to identify areas of strategic technical debt and provide cost/benefit analysis for eliminating this debt and suggested timelines for how to prioritize it

* Intimately know requirements to make multiple projects successful

* Should be able to dissect a set of business requirements translating them into technical requirements as well as identifying the places or technologies critical to making the projects efficient and successful

* Working with the development team on the identification and creation of test cases and testing solutions to support application development and problem identification and resolution

* Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components

* Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure

* Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in testing, development, and support

* Competent to perform all programming, development, and integration assignments without close supervision

* Provide project management, programming, systems leadership, guidance, and assistance to other team members

* Work on more complex application/technical problem identification and resolution, including responding to off-shift and weekend support calls

* Work independently on complex processes and modules that may be used by one or more programs or systems

* Develop major system modules or programs based on requirements gathered from system customers

* Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing of system components that requires careful planning and execution to ensure timely, quality results

* Fully knowledgeable of programming languages appropriate to the platform supported, program design and specification development, programming logic, logic diagrams, system analysis techniques, testing, debugging, documentation standards, file design, storage, and internal systems

* Perform integration tasks for in-house developed systems and/or purchased hardware and software solutions

Basic Qualifications:

* Computer-related or Engineering-related four-year College or University Degree

* 3+ years of strong technical ability (architecture, design, and development)

* 3+ years of experience in an object-oriented language environment (Angular, SQL and .Net)

* 3+ years of experience with automated testing software (TestComplete, Cypress, Jira, etc.) and best practices

* Previous team lead or project lead experience

* Experienced in developing RESTful web services and Postman software

Top Candidates will also have:

* Minimum 12 months experience testing in Agile

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work with the business

* Experienced in working on medium to large enterprise projects in industrial applications

* Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware & software, testing software and processes and current development processes and tools

* Have a developing knowledge of Caterpillar policies and procedures and a general knowledge of the Caterpillar organization

Minimum Salary:

$84,996
