As an IT Analyst II-Tech Infrastructure in the Construction Industries Group CIO organization, your role will have accountability of ensuring internal business partners are supported in delivering value to their organizations and customers. You will play a key role as part of a team to support Construction Industries Earthmoving business partners. This role reports to an Information Technology Manager Business Engagement.
This will be accomplished by building relationships and working with business partners to fully understand and support their needs through various projects and site support accountabilities. The primary purpose of this role will be to provide on-site network support to enable product testing and demos at the Peoria Proving Grounds. Additionally, the incumbent will be accountable as on-site IT support resource assisting the business and acting as a liaison as necessary with corporate IT (GIS). The incumbent will lead by living our core values, winning the right way and have a strong desire for adding value to business partners through continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
* Analyst located on-site at the Peoria Proving Grounds (PPG) facility in Washington, IL with primary focus on providing on-site network support to enable product testing and demos at the Peoria Proving Grounds
* Provide support for standard and non-standard wireless activities
* Ensuring equipment is kept current from a hardware and software perspective while maintaining/expanding network technologies inclusive of towers, solar trailers, radios, switches other hardware
* Provide technical expertise in support of all things IT at the PPG facility including off-shifts, weekend and holiday support as needed
Required Qualifications:
* Relevant degree, technical certification, or equivalent IT experience.
* At least 3 years of progressive IT network experience
* At least 5 years of progressive IT experience
* Ability to physically work outside in various conditions as needed for extended periods of time
* General network troubleshooting skills
* Desire and passion to learn and apply new technologies
* Ability to be a proactive self-starter
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to problem solve both individually and within team
Desired Qualifications:
* Experience and understanding of machine communication configuration (ECMs)
* Experience with various vendors and network hardware including point-to-point and backhaul (Cisco, Mimosa, Ceragon, Cambium etc.)
* Cisco CCNA Wireless Certification
* Linux OS Knowledge
* Network Software Technician Tool Experience - survey tool, drive test tools, port/protocols, scripting
* Network Hardware Technician Tool Experience - RF monitoring equipment, Wi-Fi tester, spectrum analyzers, cable analyzers and tests etc.
* Broad IT experience to support the facility
* Strong knowledge of Caterpillar policies and procedures, and a general understanding of Caterpillars organization.
