Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM), one of the WIM lines of business, has an opening for a self-motivated and highly analytical Fund Reporting Consultant 4 (FRC 4) to join the team in Boston, MA. This consultant will be responsible for the financial reporting of mutual funds specifically but will work with other types of accounting as well.

The FRC 4 is involved in overseeing the coordination and review of all quarterly, annual and semiannual reports to shareholders and all regulatory filings. This critical function ensures adherence with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), alignment with all regulatory reporting requirements, and approved policies in addition to meeting all filing deadlines for both domestic and offshore products.

In addition to the reporting responsibilities of the FRC 4, this employee will provide guidance and training to financial reporting analysts throughout the financial reporting process and assist in the timely resolution of any issues identified. The successful candidate will work with external auditors and other service providers to resolve any issues and implement new accounting standards as necessary; will contribute to the establishment of new policies or enactment of policy changes in response to regulatory changes, new investment types, and/or new fund types.

The FRC 4 will also assist management in supervising the group in all functions, including overseeing the review of N1A, N-2, and N-14 filings and other legal filings for accuracy and completeness. Participation in special projects as needed, including process improvement initiatives, review of new regulatory reporting filings, systems implementations, and fund mergers, is also an important responsibility for the employee in this role.

Required Qualifications
* 6+ years of investment accounting experience in the mutual fund industry

Desired Qualifications
* A BS/BA degree or higher in accounting, finance, or economics
* Public accounting experience
* 8+ years of financial industry experience
* 6+ years of financial reporting experience
* Knowledge and understanding of mutual funds administration: financial reporting, fund accounting, and operations
* Knowledge and understanding of calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV)
* Knowledge and understanding of mutual funds, financial reporting, and regulatory filings
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
* Ability to shift priorities as work flow/volume dictates
* Strong project management, vendor management, and research skills
* Experience working with changing priorities and deadlines

Other Desired Qualifications
* Familiarity with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) rules and regulations
* Self-motivated and capable of independently monitoring and completing tasks and projects within required time frames
* Strong leadership, planning, analytical and organizational skills

Salary Information
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.

MA-Boston: Min: $72,400 Mid: $102,000
