Internal Audit conducts audits and reports the results of our work to the Audit & Examinations Committee of the Board of Directors. We provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services delivered through a highly competent and diverse team. As a business partner, Audit helps the Company accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.

The Audit Governance, Analysis and Reporting (GAR) team consists of approximately 60 team members. The GAR Group provides Governance and Oversight over front line risk management activities, ensuring Internal Audit has fully identified the processes it executes, the risks associated with those processes, and has controls in place to mitigate those risks. GAR includes functional teams including Quality Assurance, Risk Oversight, Audit Committee Reporting, and Regulatory Relations.

The Regulatory Relations team is led by a Business Risk & Control Senior Director. The team advises, facilitates, and monitors Internal Audits regulatory relationships and associated activities, including ensuring consistent, transparent, and well-managed regulatory engagements, interactions, responses, and communications. The team also develops a holistic view of regulatory activities, themes, and commitments across the Audit division.

Internal Audit Regulatory Relations is seeking an experienced Regulatory Relations professional to lead effective regulatory engagement management, communications, and program development. Experience should include frequent and direct coordination and communication with regulatory agencies or working directly for a financial institution regulatory agency.

Business Risk & Control Senior Officer - Regulatory Relations Specific Duties:

* Leads the most complex regulatory engagements with a focus on ensuring appropriate accountability and interaction with regulators. Oversees the most complex regulatory responses, integration opportunities, and commitments throughout the Audit Regulatory Relations engagement lifecycle.
* Leads development of regulatory engagement strategy/standards for managing regulatory relations. Leads consistent delivery on regulatory commitments and consistent execution of the Internal Audit regulatory-driven policies and procedures.
* Oversees peers and stakeholders in identifying and addressing opportunities to improve on regulatory engagement programs and processes. Ensures consistent delivery on regulatory commitments and consistent execution of Internal Audit regulatory coordination policies and procedures.
* Leads/assists with aggregation, forecasting, tracking, and reporting on regulatory actions to stakeholders, including executive leadership, Board of Directors, and Regulators. Proactively oversees/maintains awareness of regulatory environment and state of regulatory relations.
* Assists with development of Audits strategic regulatory outlook, including assessment of key areas of focus, major initiatives or rulemaking impacts, changes to supervisory approach, and comprehensive domestic and international engagement.
* Partners with Audit teams to identify, assess, manage, and mitigate regulatory risks associated with their activities, including testing, monitoring, and regulatory issue remediation
* Monitors, measures, evaluates, and reports on the regulatory impact of decisions to the relevant Audit teams
* Conducts analysis of regulatory matters and presents findings to senior management
* Collaborates with and advises Audit teams on effective regulatory engagement and communication strategies
* Consults and supports interpretation of regulatory policy, guidelines, and governance programs for moderate to high risk, or complex programs.
* Aggregates, evaluates, reports on regulatory issues, and escalates where necessary.
* Leads implementation of initiatives with moderate to high risk.
* Collaborates internally with Audit teams regarding risk management of division-specific risk programs.
* May lead project/virtual teams and may mentor but does not manage other team members.

Required Qualifications
* 10+ years of experience in risk management (includes compliance, financial crimes, operational risk, audit, legal, credit risk, market risk, IT systems security, business process management) or 10+ years of financial services industry experience, of which 7+ years must include direct experience in risk management
* 3+ years of experience presenting to regulators and creating materials for regulatory deliverables

Other Desired Qualifications
* Advanced degree in a business or financial discipline
* Certification in one or more of the following: CPA, CAMS, CRCM, CIA, CISA or Commissioned Bank Examiner designation
* Solid knowledge and understanding of audit or risk methodologies and supporting tools
