Class Start Dates: March 8, 2021

Shift Requirements: Start times of 12:00pm, 12:30pm, 1:30pm or 2:30pm M-F with weekends as assigned or Sunday Thursday.

Starting Wage: $16.00 per hour (up to $19.20 per hour with Shift Differential)

What Youll Do

* Handle routine customer service inquiries and problems for one to three call type functions via telephone, digital or chat channels through effective communication and problems solving skills. These routine customer service inquiries require the use of standard screens, scripts and procedures.
* Navigate a computerized system for responding and/or troubleshooting to customer questions. Must have excellent verbal communication and problem-solving skills, as well as being comfortable with multi-tasking, as needed.

How Youll Do It

* Assists over 100+ customers per day by energetically engaging in a fast-paced, back-to-back call environment via phone, online or chat
* Brings empathy to customer inquiries about reward redemptions, customer information updates, card activations, making payments, processing lost or stolen cards, statement and APR inquires, and processes credit line increase and decrease requests
* Utilizes multiple systems to respond to, troubleshoot and document customer inquiries
* Leverages 2 standard screens, verbatim scripts and procedures
* Builds the Discover Financial brand by providing industry-leading care and innovative solutions

Qualifications Youll Need

* Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to multi-task, as needed, to get the job done

* High school diploma or GED
* A quiet work space
* Internet service with a minimum speed of 5 Mbps
* Personal smartphone or a tab

Keeping our employees safe is a key focus at Discover. This position is based in our West Valley, Utah call center. Based on the evolving situation with Covid-19, we may ask you to be onsite on day 1 for equipment pickup and New Hire Orientation. From there your training and/or work will be remote until the situation with Covid-19 allows us to move back into our building.

*At Discovers discretion this position may be work from home and adjusted back to in office at any time.
