The Associate Director, Portfolio & Strategic Planning Analytics is responsible for providing best-in-class analytics that drive understanding and transparency around the long-term financial outlook for the company and informs optimization of the R&D portfolio consistent with strategy and enterprise sustainability objectives. Primary objective is to effectively work with partners in Enterprise Strategy, Commercial, R&D, and Business Development in the translation of strategy into our long-term financial picture and in ensuring data-driven investment trade-off decisions that enable therapeutic area strategy and pipeline goals.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop analytics that drive and inform Strategic Planning, Portfolio Optimization, and Enterprise Sustainability by framing potential strategic choices in the context of portfolio and sustainability goals, by capturing a range of outcomes, and by accounting for risk and potential.
* Acquire and synthesize disparate data required to drive timely delivery of high quality analytics.
* Develop and deliver clear and concise presentations of analytics and corresponding insights.
* Collaborate with leaders of Strategic Areas to assess strategies and implementation of enterprise strategic direction.
* Establish and maintain effective partnerships with leaders in Strategic Areas, Enterprise Strategy, WW Commercial, R&D, BI&A, and Finance.
* Serve as representative at relevant working team meetings.
* Develop and implement best practices for portfolio analytics that establish the team as a Center of Excellence including but not limited to: forecasting methods, portfolio optimization, portfolio decision trade-offs, peer group assessments, qualitative and quantitative valuation approaches, and sustainability modeling.
* Provide training, support and supervision of new team members.

Requirements

* 5+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or in consulting for pharmaceutical clients
* Experience in asset valuation, strategic planning and portfolio analysis required
* Highly proficient in analytical techniques including forecasting, asset valuations, financial modeling and optimization techniques
* Strong communication and presentation skills required with evidence of successful engagement with senior level executives
* Scientific and market knowledge of Oncology, Hematology, Immunoscience and Cardiovascular highly desirable.
* Advanced degree (MBA, PhD) or equivalent experience required
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
* Familiarity with analytics/data tools such as Tableau highly desirable
