The SPL will lead a cross-functional matrix team known as the Global Operations Team (GO-Team) for a cardiovascular product, or multiple products, to develop and maintain a multi-year supply strategy; prioritize and resource key investments across the end to end supply chain; assure key project execution; and drive year on year attainment of brand operating metrics.

The scope of the product supply strategy that the SPL will oversee and manage will include but not be limited to product sourcing, network capacity, supply assurance, major market launches, product line extensions, physical product enhancements, process and method technical changes, robustness/quality and productivity projects and business continuity planning.

The SPL will partner with the Commercial Worldwide Brand Team (WWBT) and the Development Team (DT) leaders to ensure that we are collectively aligned to execute on the top priorities at an enterprise level. In this context, the SPL will ensure that value, constraints, costs, and risks are clear and appropriately factored into decision making and aligned enterprise level product lifecycle planning.

Additionally, the SPL will lead the GO-Team to serve as a network level escalation team to manage issues and risks escalated from sites and functions that require network level responses and communications. The SPL will be accountable to drive decisions in an efficient and effective way through appropriate governance channels and represent the brand performance, agenda, and priorities with senior level stakeholders across Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) and BMS.

As GO-Team leader, the SPL will be responsible for setting horizontal objectives for team members, coaching and managing, and partnering with functional line leaders in people management processes, including performance management and development plans.

The SPL will be a standing member or an ad hoc member of the new governance structures. The SPL will co-chair Brand S&OP (or equivalent) in partnership with commercial leadership.

The GO-Team, under SPL leadership, collectively carries the following responsibilities:

* Maintains an integrated multi-year roadmap across the end to end value chain, prioritizing key projects and investments encompassing physical product enhancements, process and method technical changes, sourcing and scale up, launches, robustness/quality and productivity projects.
* Develops global inventory strategies including identification of opportunities and action plans to optimize end-to-end inventory. Maintains end to end product supply plans that address fragmentation complexities and maintains market supply continuity.
* Ensures CMC change plans are developed and coordinated across sites, functions, and markets.
* Identifies prioritizes, roadmaps, and captures year on year continuous improvement opportunities in alignment with sites, functions and project portfolio management processes, including robustness, yield and cycle time.
* Ensures priority projects are aligned and resourced across key functions and sites and ensures completion and value delivery.
* Manages risks and issues that escalate above single site or function level.
* Oversees supply risk assessments and mitigation planning deliverables, including Annual Business Continuity Plans.
* Secures product supply strategy endorsements, including relevant product sourcing decisions, and technical agenda endorsements at appropriate governance forums which reflect priorities and sequencing of changes.
* Maintains effective communications to key stakeholders, including formal Annual Product Reviews with Sr. Leadership to provide an update on the product strategy and progress towards its realization.
* Ensures successful global product launches through close coordination within GPS Launch Teams and Site-to-Market Teams.
* Provides input, documents and maintains long-range physical and financial flows, strategic and operational inventory targets, and long-range capacity and capital plans to meet global supply requirements.

The successful candidate will possess both a strong general management skill set (business acumen, matrix team leadership) in addition to a strong foundational of knowledge of manufacturing, development and supply.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

B.S. or B.A. in science and/or engineering (biotechnology, biology, chemistry, pharmacy, engineering or related sciences). Master or advanced degree (sciences or business) preferred.

8-10 years extensive experience and demonstrated leadership in Operations or Supply Chain Management, with a significant component in manufacturing, development or supply.

Capability to build alignment with business partners including R&D, commercial operations and manufacturing regional and site leaders.

Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills and has the ability to deal effectively with all levels of management.

Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, influence, negotiation, problem solving, strategic thinking and leadership in a matrix environment.

Demonstrated strong leadership capability with ability to make and act on decisions while balancing speed, quality and risk.

Certification or exposure to Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement concepts desirable.

Demonstrated ability to influence areas not under direct control to achieve objectives and effectively communicate challenging goals and objectives.

Ability to work in a matrix environment and build strong relationships by being transparent, reliable and delivering on commitments.

Ability to provide innovative ideas to optimize supply chain and generate new ideas or alternatives that create value, including seeking new information and external insights.
