What youll be doing...
The Director, Marketing Technology leads a team that sets and executes Tableaus marketing technology strategy, as well as deploys cutting edge email programs and virtual events, to help drive Tableaus acquisition, conversion, and retention of customers. Leveraging a data-driven approach, the Marketing Technology team works closely with other teams (e.g. the Customer Programs, Events, Field Marketing, Web, Product Marketing, Business Technology (IT), and Sales Operations) to enhance our cross-channel customer journeys and optimize the marketing funnel in a globally aligned, B2B marketing environment. This role is responsible for guiding team direction and performance, interfacing with key stakeholders, fostering team culture, as well as empowering and developing a team of ~20 managers and individual contributors. This person will also play a crucial role in identifying opportunities for and managing the alignment and integration of marketing systems and data with Salesforces broader marketing efforts and technology.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Set and execute against Tableaus Marketing Technology strategy to maximize customer and business outcomes, leveraging input from key stakeholders and aligned with Salesforces overall martech efforts
* Work closely with Sales Ops / Sales to improve lead flow, conversion, and follow up, including managing the associated technology & processes, as well as communicating change
* Develop, plan & test advanced email nurture programs & technical marketing programs that accelerate revenue opportunities through the sales and marketing funnels
* Enable virtual and in-person event technology and process management globally to support events up to 100,000+ people
* Lead and manage the Marketing Technology team, including fostering a data-driven & testing culture, project delivery, resource management, hiring, mentorship, and performance management
* Manage data processes to enable measurement marketing impact on pipeline and revenue
* Partner closely on strategy for data governance efforts with our data engineering team including validation, cleansing, and augmentation/appending
* Provide training for and drive the use of key technologies and processes, such as marketing automation, customer data platform and integrated customer journeys
* Maintain strategy to delivery tools to segment and leverage the marketing database for greater campaign efficiency and effectiveness
Who you are...
* 7+ years experience leading marketing operations for fast-growing, lead-generation oriented B2B companies preferably in a high tech, enterprise selling environment
* Experience and understanding with lead management and demand generation with focus on impact/revenue
* Experience establishing global email marketing standards and technical solutions to support teams globally
* Experience with B2B events and event technology (virtual/webinar/in person) a plus
* Experience working with inside and fields sales
* BA degree in marketing, computer science or equivalent related experience
* Deep technical knowledge of marketing technology, operations, automation, data flows, and campaign execution as well as best practices for sales and marketing processes
* B2B lead and campaign management knowledge
* Strong project management & communication skills
* Eloqua and Salesforce Marketing Cloud - or other marketing automation system
* Lytics or other customer data platforms
* Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce.com), content management systems (e.g. Drupal), event tech (e.g. On24, Eventcore, Hubb), and web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics)
* Experience with B2B events and event technology (virtual/webinar/in person) a plus
