The successful candidate will lead the definition of SW roadmap. This includes defining our software strategy for mobile including all the different OS such as Android, Linux, Kai and Chrome. This is an influential position responsible for driving the overall HLOS strategy within Qualcomm's Mobile business unit by leveraging strengths in the following areas:

* Strategic Thinking - Drive Android strategy for QCT and with Google.

* Product Focus - Experience driving SW product definition and PRD throughout the product creation cycle

* Customer Engagement - Experience supporting Google, OEMs and ODMs during a product design cycle

* Collaborative Business Leadership - Clearly articulate business success and collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve it.

* Technologist - In-depth knowledge of Android platform or Linux

* Effective Communicator - Internal and External facing communication. As a leader in the SW Product Management team, you will elevate expectations for the organization and for QCT. By understanding the competitive landscape you will enable SW platforms and ecosystems to maximize the return on investment.

* Monetization experience with software monetization is a must



Additionally, he/she will have following key responsibilities:

* Become the go-to person for Google's Android platform teams

* Lead a team of SW Product managers

* Generate and define the software roadmap for Android mobile products

* Work with Tech teams to create SW PRD for the mobile SOC

* Define key SW differentiation for new products

* Engage and communicate with customers on new product definition and impact on product use cases

* Align the roadmap, the release process and the policies with the Android platform

* Drive software as a service



Look at process changes and enhancement in current product creation anchored by a solid business case and ROI

Cradle to grave ownership of software products:

* Working with development and program management office to bring product proposals through the first stages in Qualcomm's product development life-cycle

* Generation and management of product launch plan

* Generation of key material associated with product launch including suitable training material and product documentation



Minimum Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Humanities, or related field.

* 10+ years Product Management or similar experience having managed programs or projects for businesses that contribute for customers and business partners



Preferred Qualifications

* 15+ years in managing and developing software product roadmaps or related work experience.

* 5+ years in a senior leadership role

* 2+ years working with operating budgets and/or project financials.

* 2+ years negotiating 3rd party business agreements.

* 4+ years working in a large matrixed organization.

* Relevant experience working cross-functionally with product, partnership, or technical experience in consumer technology companies

* Experience creating product business cases leading to success products in the marketplace

* Experience working with program management, marketing and development teams in defining and introducing new products

* Experience managing P&L

* MBA/MS is preferred

* Proven, demonstrated experience as a successful change agent and broad business knowledge including hands-on experience in software product management

* Must have a proven track record as a leader, trainer and coach.

* Ability to work on abstract problems across functional areas of the business.

* Interfaces internally and externally with executive level management requiring negotiations of highly complex matters to influence policy making bodies both internally and externally.

* Experience with Linux and Android

Physical Requirements

Frequently transports between offices, buildings, and campuses up to mile.

Frequently transports and installs equipment up to 5 lbs.

Performs required tasks at various heights (e.g., standing or sitting).

Monitors and utilizes computers and test equipment for more than 6 hours a day.

Continuous communication which includes the comprehension of information with colleagues, customers, and vendors both in person and remotely.
