We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Design Engineer. You will have mechanical component design experience related to hydraulics, power transmission/gears or mobile industrial equipment. Working with our Engineering Team, your main responsibilities will include; Designing new actuators with components consisting of shafts, gears, housings, mounting structures and seals. You will be assisting our Sales and Applications Engineers with product sizing calculations and product customization. You will collaborate with customers and supplier engineers. In addition, duties will include project management and the development of testing requirements for the Product Validation Engineer.
Required: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineer and 5-12 years of relevant engineering design experience. Our ideal candidate will have 6+ of the skills listed, with at least one from all three areas: Product Design Stress analysis including both hand calculations and FEA Mechanical design of weldments, forgings and castings Proficiency in SolidWorks GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack up experience Product Testing experience including creation of DVP/DVP&R and writing of test plans Familiarity of PPAP and APQP principals Project management experience Integration with Sensors and other on-board machine electronics Multi domain system modeling with software such as Matlab, MapleSim or Wolfram Failure Analysis/Root Cause investigation experience. Hydraulics: Hydraulic Circuit Design, including selection and implementation of various hydraulic components Pressure seal selection and design (1000-5000psi) Environment exclusion seal selection and design Power Transmission: Component design experience with shafts in rotating machinery Familiarity with plain bearings and their design Working knowledge of metallurgy including steel alloys and heat treatments such as nitriding and induction hardening Familiarity with spine and gear standards such as ANSI B92.1, DIN 5480 and AGMA 2015 Selection of rolling element bearings, including ball, needle and tapered roller bearings *Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
