Shift Manager will be responsible for the overall safe and quality production of a particular shift. Works in concert with supporting departments to ensure a cohesive and productive team throughout the manufacturing process of Ceramic Tile Products.

Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function or responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

Helps to maintain a safe, healthy and organized working environment for all areas.

Responsible for leading a safety culture that is rich in hazard identification, continual training enhancements, policy adherence and safe work practice improvements.

Follows the Quality Management System, which is certified to ISO 9001:2015 for operations.

Plans and schedules work to meet production requirements while making effective use of labor, material, and equipment.

Manages associates across all functions on a specific shift to maintain production within compliance.

Evaluates selection of new employees in hiring process.

Assures adherence to operating standards, assists in the coordination of production schedules and budget planning.

Coaches and reviews performance of direct reports.

Implements standard processes for all ceramics tasks, and audits.

Participates in the selection of new hires or transfers for ceramic operations.

Performance appraisal responsibility for direct associates, as well as indirect appraisal contribution.

Conducts new hire or transfer training, as well as procedural updates throughout the organization.

Performs other duties as required.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors degree preferred. Requires knowledge of safety policy and procedures. Knowledge of ceramic manufacturing and quality standards preferred. Preferred area of Study: Ceramic, Extensive knowledge of glaze lines, printing technologies, quality standards and overall ceramic manufacturing. Requires knowledge of safety policy and procedures.

3-5 years operations experience with a minimum of 3+ years supervisory experience.

Preference of 5-7 years experience in the ceramic tile industry

Present verbal and written information and ideas clearly and effectively.

Work well under tight time constraints.

Maintain a high attention to detail.

Understand interrelationships between applications and business processes.

Develop and implement appropriate reports and metrics.

Develop relationships with key functional groups.

Identify issues, problems and opportunities while maintaining effectiveness in changing environment.

Monitor departmental compliance with applicable local rules and regulation

Follow all Company policies and procedures.

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. The associate is required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move 50 to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate may be exposed to the risk of electrical shock or vibration. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
